Secondary Guarding on Booms
Secondary Guarding devices are designed to reduce
the risks associated with entrapment. Riwal offers an
electronic secondary guarding device on the majority
of boom-type MEWPs. When an entrapment situation
is detected the sensitive edge acts as an emergency
stop to prevent further crushing, it also has a flashing
light and an emergency klaxon to attract the attention
of colleagues on the ground to enact the emergency
lowering procedure without delay
